Method

How Lastro counts.

Where the number comes from, what each item asks for, how the score adds up and what's left out.

From contract to number

Five steps to the number.

  1. It all starts with the contracts.
  2. 16 coins, read straight from the blockchain every hour.
  3. Chain by chain, they add up to R$858M in gross supply.
  4. R$43.5M held in issuer wallets doesn't circulate.
  5. That leaves R$814M circulating. That's the number compared with the dollar.

Outside the total, and why.

They exist, but their supply can't be checked onchain.

More than a hundred tokens set aside as imitations, tests or spam, including more than 20 third-party "wBRL" tokens on BNB Chain, about 60 unidentified "BRL" issuers on Stellar, dozens of test accounts on the XRPL holding billions of "BRL", memecoins named after BRL stablecoins and a "BRLA" that is another project's governance token.

The index

Ten items a holder should be able to check on their own, such as independent attestation, reserve composition and redemption rules. An item is full when the information is in a public, verifiable source; partial when it is incomplete or out of date; and not found when it appears in no public source. Each item has a weight, and the weights add up to 10 points: full earns the whole weight, partial earns half. Ties share a position. The index measures what is published, not the quality of the backing. The criteria start from what Circle and Tether publish and from the disclosure rules of the US GENIUS Act and the EU's MiCA, adapted to BRL stablecoin issuers.

Supply

Read straight from each coin's contracts, chain by chain, every hour. The circulating total leaves out balances sitting in the issuer's own wallets: the ones it declares and the ones Lastro identifies as treasury, marked as inferred. Wallets with no identified owner are not left out, even when they hold a large share of the supply.

Reserves

Composition, custody and attestations come from the issuers' own portals and reports, always linked to the source. Coverage is always as of the data's date: that day's reserves divided by that day's supply. When the data is more than 45 days old, or supply has moved more than 10% since, it shows as an old reference, never divided by today's supply.

Updates

Supply and prices update every hour. Lastro's own history, started on Oct 6, 2026, saves one snapshot a day; before that, the series come from DefiLlama and Fact Finance. Coins with no public series show no change until enough days pile up. Issuer reports and profiles are reviewed by hand: when a new report comes out, the profile changes.
